About the role

- Design a health economics framework covering demand, costs, access, feasibility, and patient burden across service types and geographic areas
- Analyze health-system utilization, referral, expenditure, and geographic inputs in an approved secure environment
- Build transparent make-or-buy, break-even, budget-impact, prioritization, and sensitivity models
- Produce reproducible code and workbooks, technical documentation, briefings, and recommendations for leadership
- Coordinate with Government stakeholders and a separate GIS analysis effort; review supporting analysts' work if assigned
Requirements
- Advanced degree in health economics, economics, public health, health services research, or a related field. A doctorate is preferred; a master's degree with substantial directly relevant experience is acceptable
- At least 5 years of relevant health economics, health-services cost analysis, budget-impact analysis, or comparable decision-analytic experience
- Experience analyzing utilization, spending, claims, encounters, referrals, or comparable health-system data
- Proficiency in R, Stata, SAS, Python, or a comparable analytical tool, plus advanced Excel modeling
- Ability to explain assumptions, uncertainty, and recommendations clearly to nontechnical decision makers
Helpful experience
- Experience with rural healthcare access, Tribal health systems, federal health programs, or Purchased/Referred Care
The selected candidate must be able to complete applicable Government background, privacy, security, and data-access onboarding. When you apply, please include a brief description of two relevant health economics projects, your specific role, your availability, and your compensation expectations.
